I’m Armando, a small business owner in Connecticut. I am just now starting a online store.
A little about me first, I’m a Retired Submarine Veteran and after having a home business for a few years finally decided to create a online store. After retirement from the workforce I needed a hobby and considering I had nothing but time on my hands I worked on my hobby everyday and at many times from sun up to well past sun down. During this time I learned so many things and had a lot of fun. Then I started making things for friends and family. Little things here and there but some individuals really like what I did and a received a lot of encouragement from them including my wife to expand my hobby to a little side hustle. Well that side hustle turned into a realization that I could actually make money providing a service and helping people out.
I started to get people contacting me from different parts of the U.S. just from word of mouth and decided I needed to expand. So I bought more tools, supplies and posted a small advertisement online thru one of my blog sites. I posted just a few things like decals and stickers, nothing major. Then I started getting orders and soon found myself getting request from custom orders from other small businesses.
I took it up a step and made a couple of manufacture and supplier arrangements with other small businesses. After some learning and growing pains I quickly learned about online demand 3rd party manufactures. This helped a lot due to not needing to carry such a large inventory and worry about many other details. I realized going that route would cut into my profits but honestly I wasn’t concerned because this was really just suppose to be a hobby. But along with that, it allowed me more time to spend on custom projects and creating more designs. I took that to be a win-win.
Well that’s pretty much a quick short story as to how I ended up here. I love what I do and constantly find myself thinking about funny, military related and simple designs. I’m not a complicated individual and the type of person that thinks less is more. I’d like to think I’m not a man of words but actions, why say what your going to do when you could just do it (I guess Nike was right, Just Do It).
